Dr.
Kauffman graduated from the Cornell University Medical College in
New York in 1993 and completed a residency in Orthopaedic Surgery
at the Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York. He completed
a Sports Medicine Fellowship at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic
in Los Angeles, as well as a Fellowship in Bioengineering at the
New York University School of Medicine.
Dr. Kauffman is board certified in Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports
Medicine.
Professional memberships include the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the California Orthopaedic Association, and
the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. Dr.
Kauffman also serves as a member of the Council for Osteoarthritis
Pain Management, Institute for Clinical Care, and is a Clinical
Instructor for UC Davis Medical Center, and has served as a
Principal Investigator for multiple clinical trials, including
hyaluronic acid (Euflexxa).
Prior to joining Sacramento Knee & Sports
Medicine in 2002, Dr. Kauffman was in private practice in New
York. He continues to specialize in arthroscopic and
reconstructive surgery of the knee, shoulder, and elbow in
Sacramento. Dr. Kauffman has authored numerous papers and
book chapters on elbow and shoulder injuries, and has presented
multiple educational seminars on these subjects.
He
is an avid triathlete, skier and hockey player, and is well versed
in the treatment of athletic injuries.
