Ed graduated from the California State University, Fresno in 1984, with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy, and has completed continuing education in advanced courses in orthopedic manual therapy.   He is board certified in Orthopedic Physical Therapy, a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy, and a member of the American Physical Therapy Association.

Ed has 20 years of clinical physical therapy experience, and has practiced in collaboration with Sacramento Knee & Sports Medicine since forming Torrey-Nickerson Physical Therapy in 2002.  His practice expertise is in conservative and pre/post operative rehabilitation management of patients with knee, shoulder, and elbow injuries, and teaching home therapy programs.  He is an integral part of the patient visit, often seeing patients in tandem with the physicians of Sacramento Knee & Sports Medicine, enabling maximum care to the patient.
