Sacramento
Knee & Sports Medicine offers comprehensive diagnosis
and treatment of orthopaedic injuries. We provide a wide
range of services, including
arthroscopic surgery,
joint replacement surgery,
diagnostic Xray, MRI, and physical therapy.
Arthroscopic Surgery
The return of athletes after injury to their
sport has been made increasingly possible in part because of
minimally invasive techniques such as arthroscopic surgery.
This is done through small punctures rather than large incisions,
and surgery is generally done in an outpatient setting. The
advantages of arthroscopic surgery hold true not only for
athletes, but individuals in all walks of life, allowing for quick
recovery and return to activities of daily living.
Joint Replacement Surgery
Knee joint replacement is a treatment
alternative for degenerative arthritis of the knee, generally
performed on patients in 60+ age group. The surface of the
bone (articular cartilage) has worn down, exposing the underlying
bone. Total knee replacement involves placement of implants
that act as new surface coverings for the bone. This will
relieve pain and allow for improved ambulatory function.
Shoulder
joint replacement is a treatment alternative for chronic wear and
tear on the joint. Shoulder replacement surgery is designed
to replace the worn out joint surface with artificial surfaces to
provide smoother motion with less pain, restoring motion and
improving function.
